This book reads as a poetry.
I was enchanted from the very first page by all the words, the way they are weaved together - like magic.
“I think we all wear armor. I think those who don’t are fools, risking the pain of being wounded by the sharp edges of the world, over and over again. But if I’ve learned anything from those fools, it’s that to be vulnerable is a strength most of us fear. It takes courage to let down your armor, to welcome people to see you as you are. ”
Finding hope in a time of war, finding a kindling soul when you think you are all alone, finding someone that shares your grief, finding love when you think you are incapable of being loved.
This was such a pure and honest tale of grief, war stricken world and a lonesome girl, who finds a friend in a rival.
Such poetic way with words and storytelling is sublime, if not divine.
Couldn’t put the book down until I reached the end.
